    A Russian pilot rescued from an ice floe more than 30 hours after his helicopter crashed into the frigid Arctic Ocean on Saturday says he fought off two enemies: the cold and the polar bears.

    That's a pretty incredible survival story. I can't imagine how difficult it must be to even land in ice without sliding wildly and ending up potentially in the frigid waters.

      He is very lucky to have survived such an ordeal. Landing in the ice cold water of the Arctic Ocean could have easily been the end of him had hypothermia set in. Not to mention the polar bears. They are vicious and could have eaten him alive. I am sure the man is counting his blessings today. Not everybody would be so lucky as to get out of situation like that.
