  • New study shows the economic ROI of vaccines.

As if we didn't need MORE evidence to vaccinate.
I read the abstract and skimmed the full, seems very detailed.
Essentially they thought to measure economic (two types actually) impact of immunizations.
It doesn't just make sense to have a publicly funded immunization program, it makes dollars too.

Thank you for this studies! I do think vaccines help prevent the cost of deadly diseases. If we think about it, hospital bills, medicines and other miscellaneous bills will actually cost more if you are infected with Measles than the vaccine itself. Or it can be the greatest expense of all, which is the lost of a life. So more than just money, vaccines can really save lives as well. Of course, that return of investment is just an added plus especially for the citizens and the government.

So you mean parents who make sure to have their children vaccinated at an early age can save more in the future than those who don't? The government's role, in turn, is to provide the initial funding to lighten their load. Well it does make perfect sense. Imagine the number of times children have to enter and leave the hospital while growing up. A vaccine could spare you these expenses.

EXACTLY! Not only that, but not only that but society as a whole profits.
Less people out sick costs the health care system WAY less, and those folks produce more.
