  • [Wildfires] More Evacuations on 6,000-acre SW Oregon Wildfire



    There is a huge wildfire raging in southern Oregon now. As of this writing, it is raging across 6,000 acres. There is a mandatory evacuation for some homes in the area of Milo, which is east of Canyonville. Details and pictures may be seen here.

    Glide, Oregon, which is in the same general area, is also experiencing a large scale forest fire. As of know, it ecompasses 600 acres. The Eugene Register Guard has details here.

      Damn the damage is really overwhelming. It will take a long time before that forest will get reforestated .Imagine all of those animals that lost their habitat because of the forest fire. On the bright side, no properties near by the area got destroys and we don't seemed to have any casualties from this incident.It is also a good news that we don't seem to have any casualties from this incident. There don't seem t be an explanation if its caused by humans or by nature.

        I read today that the Oregon wildfire near Grants Pass is now 40% contained. The one near Glide is 80% contained. However, there are 3 new wildfires spotted in the Umpqua National Forest. The season isn't over quite yet.
